收藏: Regulate Blood
This class of herbs can regulate blood in two different ways, which is why it is divided into two subclasses. The first subclass consists of herbs that promote blood circulation, including Siberian motherwort and two-toothed amaranthus. The second subclass comprises herbs that arrest bleeding, such as agrimony and pseudo-ginseng.
When blood fails to circulate smoothly, it can result in blood coagulation, which is responsible for many ailments. For instance, blood coagulation can cause the suppression of menstruation, menstrual pain, abdominal pain after childbirth, and chest pain. External factors can also lead to blood coagulation, such as injuries from an automobile accident, a fall from a high place, or improper lifting of a heavy object. For example, some people may experience chest pain long after an accident, which could be due to blood coagulation caused by the accident. Since blood coagulation occurs in many diseases, including thromboangitis obliterans, coronary heart disease, and erythema nodosum, herbs in this class can be effective in treating them.
Herbs to arrest bleeding are used to treat various kinds of bleeding, such as vomiting of blood, nosebleeds, discharge of blood from the anus, blood in the urine, vaginal bleeding, and bleeding from external causes.
