Figs are neither hot nor cold; they taste sweet and help cleanse the body. They are good for your stomach and can balance the spleen and large intestine.

How to Use Figs

  • Boost Appetite & Digestion: Eat 1-2 fresh figs in the morning and evening. This can help you feel hungry and fix digestion issues.

  • Ease Constipation: Eating 1-2 fresh figs at bedtime can help soften stool, especially for older people.

  • For Dry Cough & Sore Throat: Steam 1-2 fresh figs and 2 honey dates until soft. Eat once a day to soothe your throat and cough.

  • Recovery After Illness: Boil 1kg of dry figs in water until jelly-like. Add 750g of sugar and mix. Take 1 teaspoon in the morning and evening to regain strength.

  • Boost Milk Supply: Boil 1-3 fresh figs or 30g of dry figs with 60g lean pork and 2 red dates. Eat this once a day to help with milk flow after having a baby.

  • Ease Muscle & Bone Pain: Boil 60g fresh figs with 60g pork or 1 chicken egg and 15g rice wine. This can lessen muscle and bone discomfort.

  • For Ongoing Diarrhea: Fry 30g dry figs until they smell good. Also fry 9g dry ginger until dark. Boil and eat 3 times a day.

  • Help with Hemorrhoids: Eat 2 unripe fresh figs in the morning and evening to lessen pain and bleeding from piles.

Notes

Fig leaves taste sweet with a hint of spice. They can ease discomfort from piles and even help with heart issues.
