Night Sweats
The phenomenon of night sweats is a tale of drenched sheets and restless slumber. As one drifts into slumber, they may suddenly find themselves awakened by a deluge of perspiration. Despite the coolness that follows, the sweat continues to soak through the sheets, leaving the individual feeling wet and uncomfortable. This cycle may repeat itself multiple times throughout the night, leaving one drained and fatigued. The condition is not uncommon and often leads to seeking medical treatment.
It is important to differentiate between abnormal night sweats and those that are simply caused by external factors. Lifestyle choices such as exercising before bed, a hot environment, and consuming certain foods can contribute to this experience. Similarly, sleeping on a full stomach can also lead to sweating during the night. These non-pathological causes should be kept in mind when evaluating the cause of night sweats.
