Blood Deficiency

Origin of Blood

Blood is primarily produced from the food energy (gu qi) generated by the Spleen. The Spleen sends this energy upward to the Lungs, which then propels it to the Heart, where it is transformed into Blood. The Kidneys play a crucial role in Blood production by storing the essence (jing) that produces bone marrow, which contributes to Blood formation. Blood is a result of the interaction between the post-heaven energy of the Stomach and Spleen and the pre-heaven energy of the Kidneys. To maintain Blood health, it is important to strengthen both the Spleen and Kidneys.
